Slieve League National School, Meenaveen, Carrick, Co. Donegal, was closed with effect from 1st January, 1954, because the average daily attendance of pupils in each of the two calendar years 1952 and 1953 fell below seven units. According to the information available to my Department there is not at present a sufficient number of children of school-going age in the district to warrant resuming grants to the school. Minister for Education (Dr. Hillery) May 3, 1960
